Directed by Chuck Jones with contributions from Maurice Noble and Tom Ray, Adventures of the Road-Runner serves as an animated pilot intended to launch a series featuring Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. Although the show was not picked up immediately, it eventually inspired The Road Runner Show, which aired on CBS from 1966 to 1968 and later on ABC from 1971 to 1973. The original film was later divided into three shorts, including To Beep or Not to Beep (1963), Road Runner a Go-Go, and Zip Zip Hooray!, produced in 1965 by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises.
