Plot

After a bold escape from an aircraft soaring at 30,000 feet results in the death of U.S. Marshal Pete Nessip's brother, he becomes consumed with vengeance. Facing the loss of his badge, he approaches Jessie Crossman, an expert skydiver, proposing to fund her team for the upcoming Independence Day parachute exhibition in Washington, D.C., if she'll teach him how to skydive. At the same time, the orchestrator of the airborne breakout is plotting a high-stakes computer heist to coincide with the national holiday.
