Plot
Set in 1918 during the peak of World War I, tensions run high in a small Texas town. Horace Robedaux grapples with the societal pressure to enlist, torn between his duty and his desire to stay with his young wife, Elizabeth, and their daughter, Jenny. Elizabeth's well-meaning but inept brother incessantly discusses the war, while her stern father, initially opposed to their marriage, now seeks to support them by taking care of the family if Horace goes to fight. Amidst this turmoil, the devastating influenza epidemic threatens to upend their lives and plans.
