Song of Russia (1944)

Plot

American conductor John Meredith and his manager, Hank Higgins, embark on a 40-city tour of Russia just before the Nazi invasion. During their journey, Meredith encounters the enchanting Soviet pianist Nadya Stepanova, and romance blossoms amid the vibrant landscapes and spirited performances. As they explore, they witness the joyful lives of Soviet citizens embracing the ideals of Communism. However, this idyllic experience is shattered when the looming threat of a German invasion disrupts their newfound love and the optimistic facade of their surroundings. The stark contrast between peace and impending turmoil shapes their fateful journey.
