Plot

Eddie Kennedy, a truck driver, finds himself in legal trouble after colliding with Ann Reid's car and injuring a dairy owner. He cleverly avoids penalties by claiming his actions were in support of local farmers, who subsequently initiate a boycott against the dairy. As tensions rise, the dairy owner resorts to mobsters for milk delivery, leading to road closures and Eddie's second arrest. After a daring nighttime escape to see Ann, he discovers that a farmer has been killed and Ann is missing, leaving him as the prime suspect in a murder investigation.
