Plot

Set against the backdrop of 1349, northern Germany faces the onslaught of the Black Death. In the town of Hamelin, minstrels arrive to celebrate the Mayor's daughter’s wedding to the Baron's son, whose greed drives him to leverage her dowry for his army while his father taxes the populace for a cathedral. Meanwhile, a local Jewish apothecary seeks help against the plague but faces accusations of witchcraft. After charming the Mayor's daughter with his music, a minstrel vows to eliminate the town's rat infestation, but when the Mayor backtracks on their agreement, chaos ensues, leading to plague, trial, and revenge.
