Clive Sinclair, the visionary behind the pocket calculator, faces mounting frustration in 1979 as he grapples with a lack of investment for his innovative electric car. His former assistant, Chris Curry, challenges Sinclair’s ideas, believing he can successfully launch a microchip for home computers. Their split leads Curry to team up with Austrian Hermann Hauser and brilliant Cambridge students, founding the rival company Acorn. Acorn quickly gains prominence, securing a lucrative deal to supply BBC computers, igniting a fierce competition with Sinclair Radionics for dominance in the burgeoning home computing market.
