Plot
Set against a backdrop of historical fantasy, a destitute scholar named Wang Zijin, portrayed by Chen Linong, embarks on a journey to Beijing. Along the way, he forms an unlikely friendship with Bai Shisan, a cunning fox demon played by Li Xian. As their bond deepens, Wang remains unaware of Bai Shisan's ulterior motive: to manipulate their friendship in order to acquire a magical pill that promises immortality. The film intertwines themes of trust and ambition as both characters navigate their intertwined fates.
