Plot

Fifth Avenue socialite Irene Bullock seeks a "forgotten man" for a scavenger hunt, leading her to Godfrey Park, who lives in a rundown shack by the East River. She hires him as a servant for her chaotic family, much to the annoyance of her entitled sister, Cornelia, who schemes to get him dismissed. As Irene develops feelings for Godfrey, he begins to challenge the frivolous Bullocks, imparting valuable lessons to the wealthy clan while turning their lives upside down. The blend of romance and social commentary makes for a delightful classic.
