Dollar for the Dead (1998)

Plot

Emilio Estevez steps into the iconic role reminiscent of Clint Eastwood's "man with no name" in this homage to classic spaghetti westerns infused with modern Hong Kong cinema. Estevez portrays a lightning-fast gunslinger fleeing vengeful rancher Long, whose son he accidentally killed. Along the way, he teams up with a former Confederate soldier (William Forsythe), who knows the whereabouts of hidden gold but is simultaneously hunted by Union troops. As they liberate a man (Ed Lauter) holding part of the treasure map, they attract the attention of Spanish soldiers, culminating in chaos in a small Mexican town overseen by a well-informed priest (Joaquim De Almeida).
