Plot
Set in 1956, Jonathan, a reserved high school senior, finds his fortunes with women transformed when he befriends the daring and charismatic Gene. Gene, popular with the girls, mentors Jonathan in the ways of romance. However, Gene's heart truly belongs to Bunny, his girlfriend, but their love faces challenges due to their differing social statuses—Bunny’s wealthy parents disapprove of Gene, who struggles financially. As the school year progresses, Jonathan learns about friendship, love, and the complexities of social class through his experiences alongside Gene.
