The 317th Platoon (1965)

Plot

Amid the chaos of the Indochina War in 1954, the 317th platoon, comprising four French soldiers and 41 Laotian fighters, faces a critical mission. With the French army struggling at Diên Biên Phu, they are ordered to abandon their outpost and trek 150 kilometers through treacherous jungle terrain. Under the leadership of the naïve yet hopeful sous-lieutenant Torrens, fresh from military academy, and seasoned WWII veteran adjutant Willsdorf, the group confronts relentless obstacles—saturating rain, a perilous landscape, and the ever-present threat of Viêt-minh ambushes, testing their resolve and survival instincts.
