The Wereth Eleven (2011)

Plot

The Wereth Eleven follows the harrowing journey of eleven African American soldiers from the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion during the early days of the Battle of the Bulge. After their unit is overwhelmed by German forces, they embark on a desperate 10-mile escape to Wereth, Belgium. Tragically, their hope for safety is shattered when a local resident betrays them to an SS patrol. The eleven men are ultimately murdered, highlighting one of World War II’s most overlooked war crimes and shedding light on the racial tensions that permeated even the battlefield.
