Larsen E. Whipsnade, portrayed by W.C. Fields, operates a dubious carnival perpetually evading legal troubles. As he battles looming foreclosure, his performers, including Bergen and McCarthy, grow increasingly frustrated by their unpaid wages. While Bergen attempts to negotiate for compensation, McCarthy resorts to outright theft to secure his earnings. The chaotic antics and clever schemes ensue as Whipsnade tries to keep his carnival afloat while dodging both his disgruntled crew and the law, blending humor with the inherent challenges of running a crooked show.
