Ernie Adams
Ernie Adams, originally named Ernest Stephen Dumarais, was born on June 18, 1885, in San Francisco, California. He made his mark as a prominent American vaudevillian, stage and screen actor, and writer throughout his career.
Adams, who was also known by the names Ernest S. Adams and Ernie S. Adams, began his artistic journey in musical comedy on Broadway. He gained renown as part of the vaudeville duo "Gilbert and Adams" alongside his wife, Berdonna Gilbert. Over the span of his career, Adams appeared in over 400 films, contributing to the cinematic landscape from the silent era starting in 1919 until 1948, often portraying shady and complex characters. One of his notable Broadway performances was in the musical Toot-Toot! in 1918.
His life came to an end on November 26, 1947, when he succumbed to acute pulmonary edema at the West Olympic Sanitarium in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 62. Ernie Adams rests in Valhalla Memorial Park located in North Hollywood, leaving behind a legacy in the entertainment industry that spanned decades and showcased his diverse talents.
