Plot

Set in 1991, Spud Milton’s awkward journey toward adulthood continues with little progress. As he nears fifteen without any signs of maturity, Spud grapples with feelings of being an outcast. His chaotic home life features a mother ready to emigrate, a father profiting from moonshine, and a quirky grandmother named Wombat, all contributing to his embarrassment. Returning to boarding school, Spud faces new challenges among his fellow dorm mates, the Crazy Eight, and a fresh batch of first years dubbed the Normal Seven. He quickly realizes that his second year will be anything but simple.
