Plot

Hendrik Goltzius, a prominent Dutch printer and engraver from the late 16th century, seeks patronage from the Margrave of Alsace to fund a printing press. In exchange, Goltzius offers to create a stunning illustrated book featuring provocative interpretations of biblical narratives, including the stories of Lot and his daughters, David and Bathsheba, and John the Baptist and Salome. To further entice the Margrave, he proposes live dramatizations of these erotic tales, blending art and theater to captivate the court with a bold exploration of faith and desire.
