Plot

In a Caribbean island ruled by a harsh dictatorship, the citizens rise up and kill their despised governor. Amidst the chaos, two men compete for the affection of the beautiful widow, Ines. The new, reactionary governor quickly seeks to eliminate his romantic rival, an idealistic bureaucrat named Vazquez. As tensions soar in the penal colony of Ojeda, Vazquez aims to rally the disgruntled citizens of El Pao and the political prisoners to overthrow the tyrant, Governor Gual, setting the stage for a battle between love and power.
