Plot

A cutting-edge microchip created by Zorin Industries for the UK government, engineered to withstand the electromagnetic fallout from a nuclear blast, has been seized by the KGB. James Bond is tasked with uncovering the circumstances behind this theft. As he investigates, he uncovers a sinister plot by industrial magnate Max Zorin, who intends to eliminate his rivals in Silicon Valley by instigating a catastrophic earthquake in the San Francisco Bay area.
