Plot

Schoolteacher Edith calls off her engagement after a heated dispute with her fiancé. Although she pens a note seeking to mend their relationship, she discards it instead. Unbeknownst to her, one of her students retrieves the discarded letter and sends it to her fiancé. Later, while grading papers in solitude, Edith's quiet evening is interrupted by a sudden intrusion as a man storms in, posing a threatening presence. Tension escalates as she navigates the fallout from her decisions and the unexpected danger that now looms over her.
