Plot

Sheriff Gillespie's tenure is nearing its conclusion as political adversaries rally behind ambitious businessman Kerry Madigan to challenge him. They aim to sway Forbes and local media to tarnish Gillespie’s reputation. Amidst this turmoil, police investigate Frank Cole, an employee of Madigan, in connection with the murder of a pregnant woman. When authorities seek a warrant for a DNA test on Cole's blood to identify the baby, the sympathetic judge, loyal to Madigan, refuses to grant it, complicating the case and intensifying the political battle.
