Plot

Baby Rose is abandoned on the doorstep of Greenwoods Orphanage, where she finds warmth and love under Mrs. Hartley’s care. However, her world shatters when tragedy forces her to move to Irongates, a place starkly different from her nurturing home. There, the harsh headmaster, Mr. Crampton, imposes strict rules, punishing Rose and her peers for the slightest missteps. Despite the obstacles, Rose befriends Emily, but faces challenges from envious children. As Christmas approaches, she eagerly awaits the annual gift of an orange from Mr. Crampton’s kind-hearted brother, hoping for a taste of joy amid adversity.
