Set in the summer of 1948, the story follows Mitsué (Rié Miyama), who grapples with the aftermath of the Hiroshima tragedy. Haunted by her father's ghost, he urges her to embrace life and love, having learned of her newfound feelings. Despite his warm and humorous attempts to inspire her, Mitsué remains resolute, believing she has no right to pursue happiness while so many suffered in her stead. This poignant narrative, adapted from Hisashi Inoue's play, explores the heavy burden of survival and the quest for personal joy amid deep-seated grief.
