Night Labor (2013)

Plot

Sherman Frank Merchant, a towering 6'6" clam digger from Downeast, navigates a challenging dual life in Night Labor. At forty-six, he transforms from a self-sufficient day laborer into a factory worker by night. Clad in a white smock and armed with an array of knives, Sherman meticulously prepares tools for the incoming crew starting their shift at 6 a.m. The film captures his struggle to adapt to this new role while highlighting the contrast between his rugged independence and the demands of factory life.
