Plot

Sam Bass arrives in Denton, Texas, eager for employment just as the town prepares for an exciting horse race. His charm quickly wins over Katherine Egan, the sheriff's sister, as well as the spirited Calamity Jane. Fortune smiles upon him when he acquires a fast racehorse, but this stroke of luck quickly spirals into chaos.
