Plot
Dan Bellows discovers Joyce Heath, a once-celebrated actress now struggling with alcoholism, and decides to help her recover at his Connecticut residence. Determined to support Joyce's return to the stage, he requests his fiancée, Gail, to release him from their engagement. With a plan to sponsor Joyce in a new play, Dan navigates the complexities of his feelings and the challenges of rekindling Joyce's career while trying to find a way forward for himself.
