Plot
Set against the backdrop of the Sino-Japanese War in 1939, Sakura Nishi, a young army nurse, finds herself in the harrowing environment of field hospitals in China. Tasked with assisting Dr. Okabe in performing numerous amputations, she offers compassion to wounded soldiers, including one despondent man who has lost both arms. As she navigates the chaos of war, Sakura develops deep feelings for Dr. Okabe, who struggles with impotence due to his morphine addiction. Her love drives her to accompany him to the front lines, where the brutality of conflict tests their bond.
