Plot
Lady Booby, the vivacious wife of Sir Thomas Booby, sets her sights on the handsome and clever Joseph Andrews, a protégé of the local parson, Adams. Despite being in love with the foundling Fanny Goodwill, Joseph becomes the Boobys' footman. Their excursion to Bath turns scandalous as the social elite indulge in vanity. Lady Booby’s advances are met with Joseph’s steadfast virtues, leading to her frustration and eventual dismissal of him. After being rescued by an innkeeper’s maid, Joseph’s honorable nature continues to attract unwanted attention until he is reunited with the kind-hearted parson.
