Plot

In "Semi-Pro," Jackie Moon wears many hats as the flamboyant owner, promoter, coach, and star of the Flint Michigan Tropics, the least successful team in the American Basketball Association (ABA). With the impending merger of the ABA and NBA in 1976, only the top four teams will secure a place in the NBA, while the rest face extinction. Determined to keep his team alive, Jackie must inspire his players to turn their fortunes around and start winning games, all while navigating the challenges of both basketball and his eccentric ambitions.
