Plot
Egotistical crime novelist George Melville finds himself entwined in the mystery of an infamous art thief presumed dead. While pursuing this case, he also becomes romantically involved with a charming young actress starring in a play that serves as a front for a major jewel heist. With the help of his spirited assistant Claire Peyton and the relentless newspaper editor Phil Bane, George delves deeper into the criminal underworld. The cunning thief, masquerading as a theatrical producer, orchestrates a chaotic war drama to distract from his crew's audacious safe-cracking escapades next door.
