Plot

Elif and her sisters, Funda and Aysun, grapple with the aftermath of a childhood marred by tragedy when their parents died in a bus accident. While Elif assumes the role of caretaker as Funda and Aysun struggle with mental illness, the overwhelming responsibility ultimately drives her and her husband away. Abandoned in a country lacking social support, the sisters face violence and exploitation. Their eventual reunion with Elif and Yasemin brings a mix of hope and heartache. Yasam Arsizi, also known as Sidewalk Sisters, made its mark as an official selection at the 2008 Istanbul Film Festival.
