Plot

In "John Q," John Quincy Archibald is a devoted father whose world shatters when his young son is diagnosed with an enlarged heart. Faced with the grim reality that his son's life-saving transplant is denied by their HMO insurance, John takes drastic measures. In a desperate bid to secure a place for his son on the transplant list, he takes the hospital and its staff hostage.
