Plot

Amidst a frigid winter in Montréal, the students of an elementary school struggle to cope with the tragic suicide of their beloved teacher. Enter Bachir Lazhar, an engaging Algerian immigrant who takes on the role of substitute teacher, determined to support the grieving class.
