Plot

Skeet's twelfth birthday brings him his first surfboard, gifted by his older brother Randy. What follows is a summer filled with exhilarating beach escapades and the quest for the perfect wave, as Skeet embarks on daring adventures, particularly when Randy becomes distracted by a girl. He finds mentorship in surfing icon Jim Wesley, who teaches him to embrace the thrill of the sport. However, Randy grapples with jealousy over Jim's influence and his budding romance with their single mother, leaving Skeet caught in the middle and yearning for the freedom of the ocean.
