Plot
Kiefer Sutherland portrays Denver Bayliss, a death row inmate guilty of murdering three individuals, including a prison guard. Having entered the juvenile justice system, he has spent his life behind bars and now faces execution. Forest Whitaker takes on the role of Fred Whitmore, a guard grappling with the harsh realities of prison life. When he chooses to reject the cruel methods employed by his colleagues, he finds himself at odds with the system. Despite their circumstances, a deep bond develops between Fred and Denver, leading to profound changes for both men.
