Plot

After being paralyzed in combat during World War II, Ken returns home, grappling with despair in the paraplegic ward of a veterans' hospital. Consumed by bitterness, he isolates himself, refusing to meet his fiancée. However, Dr. Brock, the head physician, takes it upon himself to encourage Ken to engage with the world around him. Gradually, supportive fellow patients—Norm, Leo, and Angel—help Ken navigate his emotional turmoil, guiding him towards a path of healing and connection.
