Plot
Amidst the turmoil of the Civil War in Russian Asia, soldier Fyodor Sukhov finds himself sidelined after hospitalization. Eager to reunite with his wife, his journey home takes a sharp turn when he is drawn into a fierce desert skirmish involving a Red Army cavalry unit and Basmachi guerrillas. Under the insistence of Commander Rahimov, Sukhov reluctantly agrees to safeguard the abandoned women from the harem of the guerrilla leader Abdullah. Joined by young soldier Petrukha, they seek refuge in a nearby coastal town, unaware that Abdullah's forces are hot on their trail, aiming to reclaim their captives.
