A Place for Annie (1994)

Plot

Abandoned by her drug-addicted mother, baby Annie, who is HIV positive, finds herself in a clinic awaiting a grim fate. Compassionate nurse Susan intervenes, bringing Annie into her home to provide the love and care she desperately needs. After two years of nurturing their bond, Susan hopes to adopt Annie. However, the situation takes a turn when Annie's mother reappears, asserting her right to reclaim her daughter. Unfortunately, under the law, Susan's status as a foster mother leaves her powerless to keep the child she has grown to love deeply.
