Plot
In "Danton," former allies Danton and Robespierre find themselves on opposing sides during the tumultuous period of the French Revolution. By 1793, Robespierre, now the leader of France, embarks on a ruthless campaign known as the Reign of Terror, aiming to eliminate dissent through mass executions. Danton, a renowned advocate for the people's rights, emerges from his quiet life in the countryside to confront Robespierre's repressive regime. However, Robespierre views Danton's defiance as a direct threat and devises a sinister plan to arrest and execute Danton and his supporters, leading to a tragic clash of ideals.
