It Happened in Brooklyn (1947)

Plot

After four years in the army, Danny eagerly returns to Brooklyn, only to discover his hometown has changed for the worse. He finds a place to stay with Nick, the janitor from his high school, and lands a job as a singer in a music store. There, he meets gifted pianist Leo and his teacher Anne, who dreams of a career in opera. When Jamie arrives from England, Danny introduces him to Brooklyn's vibrant scene and assists him in creating modern swing music. Together, the four friends work to support Leo's bid for a prestigious Brooklyn Music scholarship.
