Plot
In "Satyricon," Encolpio is devastated when his youthful paramour, Gitone, abandons him for another. Despairing, he contemplates suicide, but fate intervenes as an earthquake obliterates his home, thwarting his plans. Now adrift in the chaotic streets of Rome during Nero's reign, Encolpio is swept into a series of strange and outlandish adventures, each more surreal than the last, as he navigates the hedonistic and tumultuous world around him.
