George Eastman
George Eastman, originally named Luigi Montefiori, was born on August 16, 1942, in Genoa, Italy. Renowned for his work as a B-movie actor and screenwriter, he adopted the stage name "George Eastman" during his rise in the film industry, particularly known for playing menacing roles in spaghetti westerns throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s. One of his notable performances was as the antagonist in the 1972 film The Call of the Wild, featuring the iconic Charlton Heston and directed by Ken Annakin.
Eastman frequently collaborated with director Joe D'Amato, becoming a familiar face in Italian B-cinema during the early 1980s, often cast as the villain due to his towering height of 6'9" and his dark, imposing presence. His most distinguished role came in the 1980 horror classic Anthropophagous, directed by D'Amato, which solidified his reputation in the genre. He also portrayed Goliath in the 1985 biblical film King David and took on the role of Stefano in Pupi Avati's 1986 film Regalo di Natale.
By the late 1980s, Eastman shifted his focus from acting to writing, gaining recognition as an author in Italian television. Although he now takes on occasional acting roles, he returned to prominence in 2003 with a significant role in La rivincita di Natale, also directed by Avati.
