Land and Shade (2015)

Plot

Alfonso, a weary farmer, returns to his family home to care for his ailing son. Upon arrival, he finds his former residence occupied by his ex-wife, daughter-in-law, and grandson. The once-familiar land is now a desolate expanse, overshadowed by sprawling sugar cane fields that perpetually blanket the area in ash. After 17 years away, Alfonso grapples with reintegrating into their lives, striving to reconnect and protect his fractured family amidst the harsh realities of their environment.
