Plot
Set in 1896, young John "Dink" Stover navigates the challenges of life at Lawrenceville Preparatory School. His family in Eastcester, New York, is losing hope in his education due to his rebellious nature and numerous mishaps. Initially seen as cowardly by his peers, he earns their respect by confronting them in a series of fights. During summer break, Dink's infatuation with Miss Dolly Travers deepens his disdain for women when she dismisses his childish antics. Returning to school with a rebellious spirit, a teacher's guidance ultimately reshapes his outlook on life and learning.
