Plot
In a near-future dystopia, an undercover officer named Bob Arctor finds himself entangled with a potent and addictive drug called Substance D. As he delves deeper into the drug's effects while surveilling his friends, he gradually loses touch with his true self. The lines between his undercover role and his personal life blur, leading to paranoia and confusion. As his psyche deteriorates, Arctor grapples with the consequences of his addiction and the surveillance state surrounding him, ultimately questioning his identity and purpose in a world rife with deception.
