Plot

Set against the backdrop of 1940 England, Prudence Cathaway, a member of the aristocracy, shocks her elitist family by enlisting in the Women's Auxiliary Force. During her service, she encounters the troubled Clive Briggs, whose disdain for the upper class complicates their budding romance. They plan a week together at a hotel in Dover, but their time is interrupted when Clive’s friend Monty appears, revealing that Clive has gone AWOL following Dunkirk. Determined, Prudence pushes Clive to remember the importance of their fight for England’s future.
