Plot

Private detective Tip O'Neil receives an urgent telegram from his old friend Paul Harding, only to discover it was sent by Paul's alluring secretary, Amy Hutchins. Paul reveals that extortionists have shot his dog and threatened him. The situation escalates when his ward, Corinne, is kidnapped, and her driver is found dead. The kidnappers demand $200,000, which Tip delivers. As he investigates, he uncovers troubling connections to Corinne's ex-con fiancé, Gene Leland, and strange activities surrounding Paul’s brother-in-law, Jim Glenray. With mounting evidence and a murder tied to Amy’s gun, Tip races to unravel the mystery.
