Plot
Set in 19th century France, "Les Misérables" follows Jean Valjean, who is imprisoned for a petty theft of bread. After serving his time, he struggles to escape the unyielding grasp of Inspector Javert, a policeman obsessed with enforcing the law. Their cat-and-mouse chase defines their existences as Valjean seeks redemption and a new life.
