Plot
Mystery novelist Cornelia Van Gorder settles into the eerie "The Oaks," a country estate marred by the gruesome murders of a notorious criminal known as "The Bat." Unbeknownst to her, John Fleming, the house's owner and a bank president, has recently embezzled a staggering million dollars in securities, stashing the money within the walls of his home. Just as he plans to reclaim his ill-gotten gains, he meets a deadly fate, leaving Cornelia to navigate the chilling secrets lurking within the house, all while evading the shadow of The Bat.
