Josepha, an almost eighteen-year-old, finds herself living with her disheartened, alcoholic uncle, a once-prominent actor. Yearning for acceptance from a group of thrill-seeking friends who skirt the law, she concocts a false story implicating local druggist Savary as a sex murderer to gain their approval. Unbeknownst to her, this dangerous lie could have severe repercussions.
